Student Assistance Program
The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a school-based, systematic, and professional process of early identification, screening, referral and support for students with identified needs which may affect school performance and healthy development. SAP is designed to help schools identify students who are experiencing behavioral and/or academic difficulties which pose a barrier to academic success. Through this process, the SAP team offers support to identified students and their families.
Students who possess a disability that appears to pose a barrier to the student’s education may be found eligible for a 504 Accommodation Plan. When medical documentation is received and reviewed by school personnel, a team will meet with the parent to implement a 504 Accommodation Plan, when deemed appropriate. This team may include the principal, 504 Coordinator, teacher, school counselor, and the school nurse.
Our guidance and SAP/504 staff is available for and accessible to all students and families. Beyond the activities and assemblies, our staff offers confidential social and emotional support when needed. Upon enrolling with PA Virtual, you will be given information on how to contact your grade specific counselor.
