PA Virtual—A Leader in Cyber Education for Over 24 Years

PA Virtual approaches teaching and learning for each student by partnering with parents and students to determine how to best meet the needs of each and every child.

Our programming includes:

Each school is led by a certified principal and assistant principals guiding the academic team. The PA Virtual instructional model is designed to assist each student in reaching academic success.

 

We believe in the team approach to instruction; this is demonstrated in the commitment of our teachers and parent educators.

We Offer Both Structure and Flexibility

Our K-12 online academics program supports each child’s unique academic needs by combining the structure and flexibility they need with the support of PA-certified teachers and principals.

 

Students and Learning Coaches participate in both synchronous and asynchronous instructional formats:

 

Synchronous
Synchronous—Students log in to their virtual classroom with other students and attend live classes with PA-certified teachers. In our synchronous format, teachers provide direct instruction, guide student work, and assess student progress. Synchronous classes occur Monday through Thursday; students work asynchronously on Fridays. To see sample schedules for synchronous students, click here.
Asynchronous
Students work independently with their Learning Coaches each day. In the asynchronous format, PA Virtual teachers plan the students' coursework, supervise their progress, and are available to support student needs daily. To help students succeed, teachers provide a pacing guide for them, outlining assignment due dates along with our online curriculum. Our model of education provides each elementary, middle, and high school student with an individualized academic experience.

New Family Orientation

 

At PA Virtual, we believe all new families and students can be successful in our virtual model if they are prepared with the necessary support and knowledge. Onboarding begins with a 5 day synchronous Orientation for both Learning Coaches and students, with continued support throughout the year to aid transition into our model.

 

Each day of Orientation mimics the schedule for each academic program so that students and Learning Coaches have a realistic daily learning experience. Guided by Orientation teachers, families and students use their school-provided laptop during these sessions to actively participate in learning. Families will:

Schoolwide Title 1

 

Schools qualify for Schoolwide Title 1 based on the number of low-income families in each district. Title 1 funding is used to supplement and improve regular education programs. Every district has a family involvement policy that describes ways parents and family can be involved in the Title 1 program. Parents must be full partners in their child’s education.

 

The PA Virtual Title 1 program has been established to improve student achievement and help all students meet the objectives of the Stride K12 Inc. curriculum and the Pennsylvania Academic Standards.
