School Counseling Department at PA Virtual

The Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School Guidance Department supports student academic learning, enhances personal/social development, and increases knowledge in the career domain. We provide guidance services to all PA Virtual students while engaging students in career exploration and post-secondary planning.

Our goal is for all students to reach their full academic and social potential with a partnership between the academic teachers, parents, and School Counselors.

What We Do

Our School Counselors provide grade-specific programming that focuses on the skills students need to achieve their full academic and social potential. In addition to individual sessions, our counselors organize assemblies, provide classroom presentations, distribute monthly newsletters, and offer the following small group sessions:

504 Plans

The School Counseling Department at PA Virtual also ensures student support through Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. This act was established to provide accommodations for students who have been determined to have a disability which substantially limits a major life activity.

Crisis Management/Response

Our School Counselors are here to support our students and families as they deal with stressors inside and outside of the school environment. The School Counselors can help create a plan to manage academics and coordinate with teachers while students are focusing on the other priorities in their lives.
