Reporting a Problem

If you are experiencing a technical problem that is not addressed in our Support documents, then please contact your FSC. The following information will be useful to include in your correspondance. The more information you are able to provide, the faster we will be able to trouble-shoot and therefore the faster we will be able to solve your issue.

Were there any error messages?
If there were, please provide us with the exact wording of the error along with as much description as possible. Taking a screen shot can be very helpful for both showing the error and can also provide some "context clues".
What is it you were doing/trying to do?
Let us know in detail what you were trying to do, and what it is that you expected to happen. To trouble-shoot most issues, we need to be able to recreate the problem. If the problem is with a particular Blackboard course/organization, then please provide the course/organization name, and the teacher/leader of the course/organization. Provide enough detail that we can retrace your steps.
What is your computer make and model?
If you are not using one of the school issued computers (or if you have also tried it on both a school computer, and another computer) then let us know what you are using. Are you using a Dell Inspiron 530, a Compaq Presario SR5550f, a Mac iBook? Please provide both the make (Dell, IBM, Compaq, etc) and the model.
What operating system are you using?
If you were not using a school computer, then you will need to include what operating system you are using. (e.g. Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2000, Mac OSX, Linux, etc).
What browser are you using?
Are you using Internet Explorer, AOL browser, Opera, Firefox, etc? Include the browser version. To find the browser version, click on Help -- About.
Does the problem show up in a related activity?
Does the same problem exist if you use a different program? For example, if you you are having trouble with sound in Elluminate, are you also having trouble with sound when you play a CD or MP3?
Are you having any other computer problems?
Does the same problem exist if you use a different computer but do the exact same task? Do you have any other troubles with your computer? Sometimes what seems like unrelated issues can add great insight into the real issue.
