School e-Mail Setup

Below are the step-by-step directions for accessing your school provided email account. By following the Login Directions listed below, you will be able to change your default password and set up your personal preferences.

Login Directions

Every student and every parent in our school will now have a @mypavcs.org email address. Your email address will be your blackboard username, followed by the @mypavcs.org. So a student with a username of "smithj001" would have a student email address of "smithj001@mypavcs.org". And a parent with a username of "smithj001p" would have a parent email address of "smithj001p@mypavcs.org"

  1. Log into Blackboard
  2. At the bottom of the center column, you will see a link for "Click here for your email"
  3. This will open a new window - you may have to disable your pop-up blocker
  4. In the "Name" field, you will enter your username. Your username is your full email address (ex. smithj001@mypavcs.org).
    • If you are using the web interface (i.e. http://mail.mypavcs.org) then you have the option of using your full username, or you can use just the first half of your email address (ex. smithj001).
  5. In the "Password" field, you will enter your password. Your default password is "changeme" without the quotes.
  6. After you first login, you will need to change your password. You will not be able to access your inbox until you change the default password. Clicking on the "INBOX" link in the left hand panel will bring you to the reset password page. Your password must be between 6 and 20 characters long, and can contain any combination of letters, numbers or symbols. NOTE: After a password change, you must sign out, then sign back in with your new password to access your mail.

POP Access

NOTE: Before setting up POP access please follow the directions above to confirm you can access your email account correctly. YOU MUST access your account through the standard web interface BEFORE you try to set up POP access.

We have provide POP3 access to the school email server. Please note that using POP access will introduce a number of variables that the school Technology Department can not control. Due to the large number of variables, the Technology Department will not be able troubleshoot individual user's issues related to POP access. If you have trouble using POP access, we suggest that you either contact your ISP or use mail forwarding.
