Name: Jane Kearns
Introduction: I am currently in my fourth year teaching at Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School as a 7th/8th grade math teacher.  I grew up in the small town of Grove City, PA.  After high school I continued my education at Clarion University of Pennsylvania.  I graduated with a certification in Elementary Education and Middle Level Mathematics. After I graduated from college I moved to Sarasota, FL for two years.  I taught in a 5th grade elementary classroom for those two years. I then moved back to the Pittsburgh area. At that time I began teaching at Pennsylvania Virtual Charter School. I do have a family that consists of two dogs and my husband.

Experience prior to coming to PAVCS: Taught 5th grade for 2 years at Gene Witt Elementary School in Bradenton, FL prior to PAVCS
Education: Attended Clarion University and earned my bachelors in Elementary Education with a concentration in Mathematics.  I received my Middle Level Mathematics certification soon after graduating college.  I am currently working toward my Masters in the area of Special Education.
Family: I am married to my husband, Kevin.  I have two dogs, Petey and Tank.
Top Ten
10 out 10 almost describes my passion for: Disney!  I have been to Disney World more times than I can count.
9 times out of 10 I'd eat (calories aside): Potatoes! (any kind)
8 hours a day at my dream job (besides PAVCS) would be: I love dogs and I have always dreamed of breeding puppies and opening a puppy store!
7 days on a dream vacation would be spent: My dream vacation would consist of traveling around to all of the Disney parks all over the world (Tokyo, London, California, etc)
6 seconds after I launch my Internet browser I'm on: My personal yahoo email account to check my email.
5 minutes is all the time I have for (pet peeve): Companies calling my work phone to try and sell me something! gggrr

3 things always on my desk: Lots of pens, ChapStick, and a mess of papers!
2 people (living or dead) I wish I could meet: I would like to have met Susan B. Anthony and Albert Einstein
1 thing that might surprise most people about me: I dressed up as a Pirate during my summer job at Disney World during college.  I worked merchandise for the Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
