Is PA Virtual Right for You?Thank you for considering PA Virtual Charter School. Do you need help determining if PA Virtual is the right choice for your family? Please review our “Are We Right For You?” information to answer your questions about the enrollment process and eligibility.


We are currently enrolling students residing in PA for the 2016-17 school year.

If you’d like to start with us at the new year (first day of classes is January 4, 2017), be sure to have your enrollment complete no later than Wednesday, December 14!

Please note that students should stay enrolled and attending at their current school while completing the enrollment process with PA Virtual.

To complete enrollment with PA Virtual, you’ll need to:

Apply

Complete your online application, making sure to submit the documents you have prepared. Once we receive your application, we’ll contact you to walk you through the enrollment process and to request any missing documents.

Schedule

After all of your documents have been received, your Enrollment Placement Teacher will call to schedule an Enrollment Conference for you and your child.

Enroll

At the Enrollment Conference, you’ll meet with your Enrollment Placement Teacher, get detailed information about your grade level and responsibilities, complete final paperwork, and confirm your start date. Your child should stay enrolled at his or her current school until a withdrawal date is determined at the conference.

PA _Virtual_Enrollment_Docs_ListSince PA Virtual is a public school chartered by the PA Department of Education, enrolling families do need to submit documentation for their children. Please review our Document Checklist to ensure you are preparing the correct documents. Once your paperwork is ready, it’s easy to get your online application started.


Stop In for Enrollment Help

Every Tuesday come into any of our regional offices and get help completing the enrollment process. If you haven’t applied yet, we can help. If you still need to submit your documents, bring them in. We are here for any additional assistance you may need without any RSVP or prior notification.

Students interested in enrolling in our kindergarten program for the 2016-2017 school year must meet the kindergarten age requirement of their resident school district.

Students should remain enrolled and in attendance at their current school until enrollment with PA Virtual is finalized. Please do not withdraw students from their current school until a withdrawal date is established at your Enrollment Conference.


Enrollment Policy

PA Virtual Charter School is currently accepting eligible students in grades K-12 on a first-come, first-served basis. All students who reside in Pennsylvania are eligible to be admitted. Admission to the school is based on age as well as completion and submission of all enrollment forms and materials. PA Virtual Charter School is a public school open to residents of Pennsylvania and does not discriminate based on race, ethnicity, gender, religion, family income, national origin, or disability. Students who have been expelled from another school, or students who are currently involved in expulsion proceedings, because their behavior reflected concerns for their personal safety, or for the safety of others, will be reviewed individually and enrollment decisions will be made in full compliance with Pennsylvania law and with the State Board of Education regulations.

Discrimination Policy

It is the policy of the PA Virtual Charter School that no person be denied admission to the school or be denied participation in, be denied benefits of, or be discriminated against in any curricular, extracurricular, student services, recreational or other program or activities, shall not be abridged or impaired because of the person’s sex, race, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation or physical, mental, emotional or learning disability as required by state and federal statutes. This policy also prohibits discrimination as defined by Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (sex), Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (race and national origin) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (handicap).
