School Communications Department
The Communications Department informs the school community and general population of all events, programs and news related to PA Virtual Charter School. We promote and enhance the community experience among PA Virtual families. The Communications Department manages all
PA Virtual Marketing, Public Relations, Government Relations, and Community Relations.
School Communications
Parents are kept up-to-date on PA Virtual news and programs through Blackboard Announcements and a series of daily blogs, weekly e-mail updates, and newsletters.
Social Media
The Communications Department also consistently updates the PA Virtual presence on social media sites, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
News and Government Relations
The Communications Department alerts the press throughout the state of PA Virtual news and student achievements. We also develop relationships with government officials in the state capitol, local municipalities and school districts.
Service Learning and Volunteerism
Our Director of Community Relations works with our parents and students to participate in school-wide, community-based service learning projects. Various local and school-wide campaigns have benefitted St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Zimbabwe Education Fund, Haitian relief, and local food banks.
One other thing …
Oh yes, we also manage the schedule for school mascot “Super Squirrel,” the seven-foot-plus, orange symbol of PA Virtual’s dedication to developing a student’s full academic and social potential. Look for him at Discovery Days and other PA Virtual events.
