Family Support: Guidance
Guidance and support
Trained guidance counselors provide individual counseling for students. The one-to-one attention provides families with increased support and equips them with personalized strategies to support the needs of their child(ren). Throughout the year, families are also welcomed to participate in ongoing workshops on many topics of interest. Workshops are designed to meet the academic and social needs of students in a diverse educational model.
The overarching belief of the Family Support Department and other support programs is that empowerment, access to services and individualized attention, equip students with essential tools needed to build self-esteem and motivation. A strong belief in students’ potential is critical to PAVCS and Family Support Department staff. The ultimate benefit of our Family Support Department is to assist students in making important decisions about their future by developing the skills they need to be self sufficient and productive citizens.
